How RecoveryMagic works
- RecoveryMagic is simple to use. Once your PC
is in a good state you take a snapshot save of
that state by installing RecoveryMagic. You
don't need to think about RecoveryMagic again
until you encounter a problem with your PC.
- RecoveryMagic lets you restore your PC back
to the snapshot or saved state. When you need to
restore your PC to its good state you simply
perform a recovery. To perform a recovery,
right-click on the RecoveryMagic icon on your
system tray and select the Recover menu option.
You would be prompted for a password that you
have set when RecoveryMagic was installed. Input
the password and RecoveryMagic would
automatically reboot the system and you would be
back to the snapshot state. In the event that
you PC is not booting to or loading Microsoft
Windows, just start the Pc and when it shows the
Protected by RecoveryMagic message, press the
Home key and you can select the Recover option
and input the required password and the recovery
would take place.
- RecoveryMagic provides updating flexibility.
You can also periodically update your
RecoveryMagic if you need it to remain current
and not always revert to the original state
captured. To save a state, right-click on the
RecoveryMagic icon on your system tray and
select the Save option, input the required
password and your PC would update the state and
reboot to the new state. It is very important
that the user is sure that the computer does not
contain any virus or corrupted data, and the
user is confident of the clean state of the
system and hard disk before updating with a new
‘saved state’. Any problems that exist with the
system or disk data will be saved in the ‘saved
state’.
Important information before installing
RecoveryMagic
- Make sure that the computer is error free
and running properly.
- Your virus Protection Program should be
executed before installing RecoveryMagic, to
avoid saving the system with virus.
- It is recommended that you execute Scandisk
and Defrag to validate the hard disk. If
computer is shared, set the CMOS password to
protect the unauthorized use.
- RecoveryMagic supports the multiple
partitions (e.g. E, F, G & H) of single Hard
Disk.
In the case of multiple Hard Disks the hard disk
having drive C: is only supported.
- If the disk has been physically damaged, all
data is usually unreadable. RecoveryMagic cannot
recover a disk that has been physically damaged.
Uninstalling or removing RecoveryMagic
- In Microsoft Windows, right-click on the
RecoveryMagic icon on the taskbar to reveal
the RecoveryMagic menu, then select
uninstall command to remove RecoveryMagic
software from your computer. The uninstall
is carried out during a reboot of the PC.
- Uninstalling of RecoveryMagic can also
be carried without having to have Microsoft
Windows working if the boot mode option is
activated by pressing the <HOME> key when
the “Protected by RecoveryMagic” message is
displayed during the booting of the PC and
the Uninstall button is clicked.
- Do not attempt to uninstall
RecoveryMagic manually (This is because the
software is resident in the Hard Disk Master
Boot Area which cannot be accessed
ordinarily except by RecoveryMagic.)
