Is RecoveryMagic similar to the Windows XP
restore command?
RecoveryMagic and Windows XP’s Restore command
are very different in both concept and function.
Windows Restore command is a repair tool for corrupt
and missing files. It can (but not always) restore
corrupt system configuration settings by identifying
and reconstructing the defective files. However, if
a virus attacks your PC and corrupts or destroys
files and configurations, the Windows Restore
command is completely incapable and helpless in
restoring your system’s environment, the cause of
the corruption, the virus, remains on the hard disk
drive. In contrast, RecoveryMagic returns all your
files and system configurations exactly back to the
OEM configuration after a virus attack and even in
cases where Windows will not start.
Can RecoveryMagic restore a computer system
when the Operating System does not load or is
corrupt?
Yes. RecoveryMagic loads before the Operating
System (i.e. Microsoft Windows) does and you can
have it restore the computer system from that point
when the Operating System does not load or is
corrupt.
Will having RecoveryMagic installed
slow-down the host computer system?
No. RecoveryMagic does not have any noticeable
negative effect on the operational speed of the host
computer system.
Can I evaluate RecoveryMagic
before I decide to make a purchase?
Yes. A demo version of RecoveryMagic is available
for download on our website. You can evaluate it
free for 30 days.
Can disk utilities like
Scandisk and Defragmenter be run while RecoveryMagic
is installed?
It is generally not recommended while
RecoveryMagic is installed that you run from within
windows any disk analysis program (such as or
ScanDisk and Disk defragmenter or any similar disk
management programs), or reformat your disk with
Fdisk. However, as long as such utilities do not
damage RecoveryMagic's backup file in MBR area, they
could be used. If you need to use these disk
utilities, uninstall RecoveryMagic first, then run
these utilities. When you have finished then
reinstall RecoveryMagic and create a fresh recovery
or restore point.
